Trevor McCormick Artist
After working in the creative industry for almost 40 years, I retired from my Creative Director role in 2024 to become a full time painter. I consider myself fortunate to have discovered my true passion and am excited to see where it takes me.
In my portrait painting I concentrate on capturing the essence of the individual through their eyes and facial features. Achieving a likeness is very important to me and the strokes and texture of the paint assist in the portrait. I think a person's life is reflected in their face and this is my inspiration. The result should be an exciting collaboration between artist and sitter.
I am constantly inspired by the ever changing light and beauty of Ireland and in my landscape painting I strive to capture my surroundings. I am consistently drawn to the north coast of County Antrim where the unpredictable weather means the palette is often elusive. Whatever landscape I paint, I believe light is key to a successful painting.
Some of my work is currently on display in Gallery 1608, Bushmills and Doghouse Gallery, Comber.
I hope you enjoy the site and please contact me for any further information.
