Trevor McCormick Artist
After working in the creative industry for almost 40 years, I retired from my Creative Director role in 2024 to become a full time painter. I consider myself fortunate to have discovered my true passion and am excited to see where it takes me.
I am constantly inspired by the ever changing light and beauty of Northern Ireland and in my landscape painting I strive to capture my surroundings. I am consistently drawn to the north coast of County Antrim where the unpredictable weather means the palette is often elusive. Whatever landscape I paint, I believe portraying the light is key to a successful painting.
In my portrait painting I concentrate on capturing the essence of the individual through their eyes and facial features. Achieving a likeness is very important to me and the strokes and texture of the paint assist in the portrait. I think a person's life is reflected in their face and this is my inspiration. The result should be an exciting collaboration between artist and sitter.
Some of my work is currently on display in Gallery 1608, Bushmills and Doghouse Gallery, Comber.
I hope you enjoy the site and please contact me for any further information.
